A Jay Rodriguez penalty would condemn Norwich City to a 1-0 defeat away at Burnley on Tuesday night.
After a goalless first half, Rodriguez's second half penalty would be the game's only goal as the Clarets extended their unbeaten run to 14 games.
Jon Tomkinson would come into the Canaries' starting line-up, making his first league appearance for the club. There was also a return to action for Sam McCallum, as well as a place on the bench for academy defender Bradley Hills.
The hosts would start the game on the front foot, and registered their first opportunity through Nathan Tella. His effort took a deflection on its way and out for a corner.
In a quite tame first 30 minutes, Tella and Anass Zaroury created half-chances for Burnley, which Angus Gunn would save comfortably.
The two sides would go into the break level, with Burnley creating more than the Canaries.
After the break, the Canaries started off brightly. Teemu Pukki broke away from his marker and broke into the area, his ball would eventually come to Todd Cantwell. His initial effort was blocked, before a stabbed second effort was cleared when it had looked to be heading goalwards.
Burnley would see their first chance of the second half fall to Josh Brownhill, whose effort was wide of Gunn's post.
And Burnley would be given the opportunity to open the scoring from the spot after Grant Hanley handled in the area. From the resulting penalty, Rodriguez fired Burnley in front.
Pukki almost found a late equaliser for Norwich. The Finn got beyond the last defender, but would see his effort saved by Arijanet Muric.
