Jonathan Rowe has completed a season-long loan move to Ligue 1 side Marseille.
The loan agreement also includes an obligation for the French side to buy Rowe at the end of the loan for an undisclosed fee.
Rowe is a product of City's academy, rising through the ranks to make over 50 appearances for the first team.
He scored 13 goals in all competitions last season as City made it to the Championship play-offs.
Speaking on Rowe's departure, Norwich City sporting director Ben Knapper said: “Jonny was a player we were keen to have as an asset in our squad for the season and years ahead. Whilst we were disappointed in the way in which certain things have played out in recent weeks, I’m pleased that we’ve been able to act quickly and efficiently to ensure that the club has received the best possible deal, and we can move on in a positive direction.
“Jonny has been with the club for some time and I know how thankful he is to all of our staff that have helped develop and support him throughout his journey. He is a good person and a fantastic player, and we will all continue to follow his progress with great interest.
“We wish him well in this next, exciting step of his career.”
