Norwich City can confirm that Declan Rudd has been promoted to the role of first-team goalkeeper coach.
Rudd, who spent nine years as a Norwich City player after progressing through the club’s academy, rejoined as lead academy goalkeeping coach in 2022.
He will now make the transition from academy to first team, working closely with the club’s senior goalkeepers and forming part of Philippe Clement’s backroom staff.
Declan will begin his new role with the first team with immediate effect.
The move comes following Tony Roberts’ decision to pursue a new opportunity at another club. Tony will depart at the end of the week and will leave the club with everyone’s best wishes.
Sporting director Ben Knapper said: "Tony has brought infectious energy and personality to the training centre during his time with us. I know how highly he is valued by our goalkeepers and that they have been very appreciative of his work.
"He leaves with all of our very best wishes in the next step of his career.
"In promoting Declan to the first team, we have someone who knows the club and how we operate. He already has some excellent relationships with our current staff and players and absolutely deserves this opportunity - he is ready to make this step up and everyone within the first team is looking forward to working closely with him moving forwards."
