Norwich City’s home shirts will carry the Samaritans logo for this weekend’s fixture against Hull City, in the build-up to World Mental Health Day.
The club’s principal partners Blakely, Turismo de Gran Canaria and Sekura continue to support the club in its mission to prevent suicide and boost mental health, by donating their respective positions on the men’s first-team shirts.
Sekura and Blue Heron Training have also donated their positions on the women’s team shirts this weekend for the fixture against Real Bedford.
After the matches, the shirts will be auctioned with proceeds donated to Samaritans for the second year in a row.
Last year, the club also released a video in conjunction with Samaritans that was responsible for over 7,000 inbound social media messages to the charity requesting support.
Zoe Webber, executive director for Norwich City said: “We’re extremely proud and passionate about the impact of our work in this area. It must not be overlooked that in the UK one person dies by suicide every 90 minutes.
“Since we were made aware of this statistic, it has fuelled our mission to use our club platform and voice to help prevent suicide.
“We’re thankful to Blakely, Turismo de Gran Canaria, Sekura and Blue Heron Training for giving up their position on our home shirts in place of the Samaritans logo and helpline number.
“Our message this year continues the theme of the video we created in 2023 – you are not alone – but this year we will be highlighting the support available to anyone who needs help with their mental health and encouraging them to reach out to that network.”
