Striker Josh Sargent bagged Norwich City's only goal in the 2-1 defeat to Watford at Vicarage Road.
The USA international is now joint-top of the Sky Bet Championship's scoring charts with eight, alongside Hull City's Oscar Estupinan.
Despite his late first-half goal, the Canaries were unable to force a more positive result.
"I think we all know we lacked a bit of fight in the first half. Two easy goals. I feel like, you know, we're doing it to ourselves almost. I think the second half was a good response but a bit too late from the boys and a disappointing loss," Sargent said.
"I think we definitely gained momentum after that goal that kept us in it a bit but in the end we weren't able to create good enough chances to get a second one.
"I don't think it's that the ball won't go in. We're scoring goals, I think there's been good fight from the boys and they're showing that passion. I think that's the first step we have to take in order to turn things around."
With Luton Town visiting Carrow Road on Tuesday evening, Sargent now acknowledges that the squad will be very keen to avoid falling to a third consecutive defeat.
"It's huge. A home game for us. Our supporters are going to be there supporting us so we need to take advantage of that and get the three points."
