Norwich City's first and second year academy scholars made a recent trip to The Clare School for children with complex needs.
The academy players and staff spent the afternoon at the school, delivering a sport session for a disability group with the help of staff from the Community Sports Foundation.
Scholars are often given opportunities to take part in community activities as part of their holistic development on and off the pitch.
The academy aims to develop scholars as people as well as players, so that graduates may hone vital skills and characteristics to be successful in life, even if their eventual path is outside of football.
Alfie Pinyoun, second year scholar, said: "It's a good experience to come here, a great school and put the session on for the kids. I think it's a humbling experience."
Community activity also helps to prepare scholars for the the eventual appearance opportunities that come with being a member of the first team, where engaging with the community is of such significance.
Waylon Renecke emphasised the players' understanding of this: "It's really important for the players to come out within the community, because it really brings the club together with the fans."
