We are delighted to confirm that Ellie Smith has been voted as the Norwich City Women Player of the Season, presented by Eleven Sports Media.

The central midfielder started her journey with Norwich City in the youth team at age of 11 until she was 16, when she then spent four years playing in America. She returned to life as a Canary in 2019 and has been with the squad ever since.

Smith, 27, was notably part of the squad's 2021/22 survival campaign and scored the winning goal against high-flying AFC Wimbledon that secured City's place outside the relegation zone in the final home game of the season.

The number nine has also won the County Cup on a number of occasions with the side, including the first time when she was just 16.

Smith has played a huge part in the 2022/23 campaign, with seven goals and five assists to her name so far in all competitions. She also claimed player of the match on two occasions, for her performances against Enfield Town and Cambridge United, both in the FA Cup.
