'Support XI' initiative launched for World Mental Health Day

Ahead of World Mental Health Day 2024, Norwich City are hoping to once again tackle the topic of mental health by releasing a special 'Support XI' line-up initiative 90 minutes before kick-off.

It is aimed at highlighting the support available to those who may be struggling with their mental health.

One person dies by suicide every 90 minutes- through this initiative, we hope to remind supporters that they're not alone and to reach out to a member of their support network.

This marks the third year the club has delivered this initiative, with all Championship clubs also taking part in 2023. Ahead of this weekend we have extended the invitation to take part to clubs across the Premier League, EFL Championship, League One and League Two.

Non-league and grassroots teams are also encouraged to join, with a generic version created and available for them (below) to share on their channels 90 minutes ahead of kick-off.

This forms part of the club's overall campaign for World Mental Health Day, which includes a Samaritans shirt takeover and a 'Minute’s Unsilenced' which is taking place ahead of kick-off prior to tomorrow’s fixture against Hull City.

For mental health support and to talk to someone day or night please contact Samaritans for free on 116 123 or jo@samaritans.org.
