The club are delighted to confirm that Freya Symonds has been chosen as the women's team and Community Sports Foundation PFA Community Champion for the 2025/26 season.
The PFA Community Champion awards honour players who have made significant contributions to community work and social impact initiatives over the season.
Symonds' journey with the Foundation began at a very young age, having come through the Girls Football Pathway herself.
She has remained heavily involved in the programme ever since, both as a player for the women's team and in her staff role as the Foundation’s girls football development officer.
The City midfielder has been present at a number of appearances this season at schools, Foundation programmes and local football competitions; often first to volunteer her time in the community.
Symonds was first presented with the award as a surprise during a visit at her former school, Cliff Park Ormiston Academy before receiving the award again in front of her teammates at last week's Girls Pathway and Women's Team Awards.
Head of women's football, Flo Allen, said: "This season Freya has represented the football club in our local community in an outstanding way, giving her time, energy and care to support community programmes connected to the club.
"We are delighted that she has been recognised with the impact she has made away from the pitch."
