With the international break now over, head coach Liam Manning has provided some squad updates as Norwich City prepare to welcome Bristol City to Carrow Road.
The headline story from the pre-match press conference is confirmation of an injury sustained by José Córdoba while on international duty.
The central defender is expected to be out for a number of weeks.
"Hamstring injury, gutted for him because he'd done well in the last couple of games. He won't be back before the next international break so it's a tough one for him. As it stands, he won't be needing surgery." Manning explained.
"The communication (with international teams) is constant, there's so much data and information collected. We have far too many (injuries) and it's something we have to look at. There's so many factors - for José, there's the travel, the climate, the load."
Manning also provided an update on a variety of other players who have been absent long-term.
Shane Duffy, yet to feature this season, is nearing a return from a calf injury while Mathias Kvistgaarden and Ben Chrisene are also back out on the training pitches following their rehab process.
"It's a weekend too soon for Shane but he's very close, we're expecting in the next 10 days to see a couple more back in the group. It'll be very important for us to have that depth and competition. Ben's close too, Mathias has been back out on the grass and (Amankwah) Forson is not too far away either.
"I can't speak highly enough of (Shane's) voice, his presence, his leadership around the place. He was out around that session yesterday and had a good impact. We need people to step up and take responsibility."
City went into the break on the back of a defeat in the East Anglian derby against Ipswich Town and Manning was offered the chance to reflect on that result.
"We addressed it, we understand the knock-on effect, what it does to the fans. Nobody wanted to go in and perform poorly, it's hurt the lads, you can sense that. But we also had to move on, we've had a solid training week and we'll keep going.
"In today's age, it's impossible to keep the lads away from social media. I'm not on it but I can guess what sort of things are being said. If the lads see it, it is what it is, there'll be a lot of emotion on there. For me, I'll need to keep my head down and work. Can you look at yourself and say you're giving absolutely everything? And that's the same for the lads."
This weekend's fixture has the added element of being Manning's first time facing his former club Bristol City who he managed prior to joining Norwich.
However, there'll be no room for sentiment as he still aims to get City's first home win of the season.
"There's some fantastic people and players there. I met some terrific people in the fanbase too, we created a special memory in achieving something the club hadn't done for a long time. They offered me a lot of support during a difficult time in my life and I'll be eternally grateful to them for that."
