After the international break, Liam Manning has been speaking ahead of Norwich City's return to action against Coventry City.
Among the returning players, Jack Stacey will be welcomed back to the matchday squad while Lucien Mahovo has made good progress as he aims for a first appearance this season.
"(Lucien) trained last week, did every session that we had. The medical and physical department did a good job, he looks really good. He's been out for an extended period and needs to build up some consecutive days, it's good to have him back," Manning said.
"It's a little too soon, we'd love to push it but that would be reckless. We need to get the right workload in, give him the best opportunity to get back and stay back. There'll be some potential 21s match minutes."
"(Jack's) back in training as of last week, he fully trained a couple of dates. He's available for the weekend."
Elsewhere, Gabe Forsyth and Elliot Myles have continued their rehabilitation, making forays into on-pitch sessions in recent weeks.
However, it is still considered too soon for both to be considered for matchday action. As is the case with Amankwah Forson who remains unavailable.
"Both out on the grass, both progressing. Elliot is in the early stages of being back out, Gabe similarly we will increase his workload to make sure that he's progressing in a quick but safe, sensible manner. They'll need to get up to speed with everything we're asking them to do.
"It's still early stages (for Forson), still going to be a considerable amount of time."
Manning also spoke about Josh Sargent's importance to the team and how pleased he was at the club's ability to hold on to one of the prized assets beyond last Monday's transfer window.
Sargent played in USA's 2-0 defeat to South Korea last weekend but did not feature against Japan in the early hours of Wednesday morning.
"That we were able to keep him, that's the best signing in the Championship. You can see how important he is, hopefully he's coming back in good health," Manning outlined.
"I don't know too much depth or detail about their squad, the time I've spent with him, he's at a really high level. Most international teams would welcome someone of his quality, he just needs to keep doing what he does here. If he's turning up and putting in performances like he has so far, you'd be mad to leave him out.
"I don't know how you replace him, his level as a player but what he brings to the changing room. He knows the club, he knows the group, he knows the areas, he's settled. Who he is as a pro and a player, he's loved by the fans, credit to the people above him that we did everything we can. It's a great bit of business for us to keep him."
Another player singled out for praise was Ben Chrisene who has spent time with the England Under-21s squad over the past few days.
Chrisene impressed against his former club Blackburn in City's last fixture and Manning has challenged him to now repeat it on a consistent basis.
"He was excellent against Blackburn, we had to manage him coming into pre-season. He's gone from strength to strength and his personality has grown since we've been here, more vocal, more confident.
"In terms of building from deep, joining attacks late, overlap, underlap, he takes up good positions, his all-round game is very good. There's been some positive signs so far. We need to understand when he performs well, why? And then challenge him to continue to do that."
With Coventry the venue this weekend, Manning also pointed out how he has enjoyed getting some additional time on the training pitches with the squad as they continue to implement their plans.
"We know we're not the finished article, we want to turn the positive from the opening games from 40 minutes into 60/70 minutes. There's aspects we'll keep working on and accelerate on. The lads are improving all the time, with the experience of pressure in games but with all the behind the scenes work too."
