Norwich City Head Coach Philippe Clement reported a clean bill of health for the players that featured in Monday’s win over Millwall, ahead of Saturday’s East Anglian derby.
Kellen Fisher, who came off late in Monday’s victory at The Den, and Ruairi McConville are back in contention to face off against the Canaries' East Anglian rivals.
“Kellen and Ruairi have been training this week, so they're both in contention to be in the squad. It’s really positive news. In terms of everyone else involved on Monday, all are good to go again tomorrow.
“We’ve had a good training week, or few days, it always feels like a week when we have more than two days training.” explained Clement.
The Belgian was pleased with his side’s performance against promotion chasing Millwall at the Den on Easter Monday.
“I'm really proud about the performance that the players put in.
"I think it was probably our best performance since I arrived, because it was not only the good football and goals, but also the tough part inside of our game, to be really solid defensively, win a lot of headers, duels, long balls. The team coped well with that, but we also played our football how we want to play.
"To impose yourself at a stadium like Millwall was for me, another step in the right direction that the team is taking.
Since Clement’s arrival, City and Saturday’s opponents Ipswich, have picked up the most points in the Championship.
“Somebody showed me this week because I didn't know myself, that the last 25 games we are top of the league, together with the team we play against on Saturday.
"We have scored three goals less in that period but have conceded three less goals than they have. So it's really equal over the last 25 games.
“We're now 26 games into the building; it's a crazy turnaround.”
Spirits are high at the Avant Training Centre ahead of Saturday’s game.
“There's a really good mood in the camp, they're working very hard, like they've done since I got here.
"If I see some complacency, then I will stop that really fast, but this hasn’t needed to be the case. They've been working hard.
“But besides having fun on the pitch, they have also a lot of fun together off it, with some really good practical jokes between each other this week also, that was also entertaining. But the moments they need to switch on, they switch on, during the meetings, during the training sessions.
“For the moment, there is a perfect balance. I cannot ask for more.”
It’s important for Clement’s men to embrace the occasion, going into the Carrow Road clash.
“The more tension, the more fans, the more attention around the game – we need to embrace that.
"I think that's the big difference between the really good players and the players who don't make a career in the top game, it’s in these top moments, the big players are there every time, or almost every time.
“You can have some bad luck also. But you need to embrace it, and you need to love it, because the more emotion, the more love from your fans, the more energy you get.”
The Belgian won’t need to lean on leaders in his squad to emphasise the importance of Saturday’s East Anglian derby to his players.
“I don't feel it's necessary at the moment, the players know how important it is.
"We have enough staff here who've been here a lot of years. Everywhere you go, around the in the city, they will hear from fans also, so all the players know.”
Kieran McKenna’s side go into the derby off the back of an eight-game unbeaten run.
“They've been one of the best defences in the league this season, so you need to do the right stuff to create chances, and then you need to be really ruthless to finish off the job. They also have a lot of offensive power, not only in the four attacking positions, but also in midfield, also with their full backs.
“Everybody knows before the game, it's going to be a good game, because you will have two teams who will go for the three points and two teams who play good football.”
