Johannes Hoff Thorup gave updates on squad availability in Tuesday afternoon's press conference, including news on Josh Sargent's return.
The head coach said: "I think he could be back after Coventry now, if everything goes well we can expect him to be part of training next week. His return will probably be from the bench to begin with."
On a potential FA statement around Borja Sainz, Hoff Thorup said: "We are aware that there will probably be a charge at some point.
"We haven't received anything yet but we have some time to find out how we respond. I expect him to be available tomorrow.
"He's sometimes struggling to deal with attention in games, other teams know how good he is and we are only there to support him.
"We need him to be as good for us as possible, so we will do what we can."
Updating the media on the rest of the squad's availability, he confirmed there were no new injury concerns.
"Lungi (Jacob Sørensen) is still out and hasn't been with the team.
"Brad Hills is ill and has not been with the team the last couple of days.
"Gabriel Forsyth could potentially get some minutes against Brighton."
The club announced the departure of Christian Fassnacht earlier today, who rejoined his former club Young Boys.
"We had to make a decision with him to find out whether he should continue here.
"Unfortunately for him and for us he was not really a part of pre-season because of injury; it's been difficult for him to be integrated with the squad and for me to see what he can add to the squad.
"Because of his profile, he is maybe not the perfect fit for our strategy. It's a good contract for him; security for the next two to three years."
On the opening of the 2025 January transfer window, the head coach said: "We are ready to react if something should happen with some of our players.
"It's down to us and a player and a club and agents all trying to find an agreement; sometimes it goes fast, sometimes it takes longer.
"It's more important that we are patient and get the right fit for the club and for the team.
"We need a little bit more threat up front, probably different types of players, a player that is good at running in behind.
"We have some players good at dribbling, good at one v ones; it's fair to say that we will look for different types of players to cover the positions up front."
When asked about improvements around the squad's game plan, specifically set-pieces, Hoff Thorup confirmed there was room for improvements in certain areas.
"If we over do it (in training), we find tension in those places.
"We know there are a lot of teams in the Championship where their favourite part of the game is corner-kicks and we still have to do better.
"When watching back the game against QPR, there is a lot of individual stuff there where we have to deal with it better. That should never have been a goal; we can be more aggressive, we can move a little earlier."
Manchester City loanee Callum Doyle was singled out for his consistent performances and versatility at the back.
"I prefer to have options and to choose between players, I know they probably don't prefer that.
"I like Callum as centre-back; he gives us good options on the ball, the diagonal pass to Oscar (Schwartau) the other day against Millwall was great.
"He is a threat for us with those passes in behind, then he is also calm on the ball. He can obviously also play as a left-back, which gives us the opportunity to bring other players into the team; it's good for him and it's good for the team."
City are next in action on New Year's Day, travelling to Luton Town.
"That atmosphere they create (at Kenilworth Road) pushes the team forward and makes a big difference; they are even more aggressive at home, especially out of possession.
"Going into the new year we are optimistic, the short-term result tomorrow doesn't change that optimism.
"There are so many good things going on here; the strategy is so clear, the recruitment guys are so clear on what we have to do to make this team better for the future.
"With the right amount of good performances, we can get up there in and around the play-offs."
