Norwich City head coach Philippe Clement confirmed that although Pelle Mattsson would be unavailable for this weekend's FA Cup trip to Elland Road, the midfielder could be named in the squad for City's Sky Bet Championship fixture against Sheffield United next week.
Before touching on injury news, Clement was full of praise for Neil Adams after the club announced the departure of the technical director at the conclusion of the 2025/26 season.
"He is still highly motivated, I got to know Neil in the first talks that I had with the club, explaining the history of the club and, in these three months, we worked really well together.
"He explained to me he wants more time with his family and grandchildren, what he has never had.
"Being close to the team is relentless, almost no days off. You're a lot of times not at home, so this comes in a period of his life where he wants the family stuff but he will always be a big fan of Norwich and he told me that he's safe to do that now because of the situation the club is in."
Club captain Kenny McLean is set to make his 300th appearance for the Canaries during this weekend's FA Cup trip to Elland Road.
"It's massive, there are not many figures of that in modern football because everything is changing fast, it shows always how loyal he is towards the club," Clement added.
"He's a massive figure and still is, that's important, and he will get 300 games and more this season. Combine that with national team, because that's also a big difference.
"He almost never gets a break, he's an impressive athlete and an excellent captain. He needs to lead by example and by his words by showing things on the pitch.
"He is kind of my right hand on the field; with small contact with each other, we can change things during the game and it's crucial for a manager to have someone like that."
When asked about McLean's midfield partner Sam Field, Clement said: "He can be really useful, he feels really good in the way we want to play football; it suits him.
"It helps Kenny that he can play a more offensive role, Sam makes the right decisions at the right moment, to read passes before they are given, so I'm really pleased with both of them.
"Sam is still building because he hasn't played so much this season, so we want to get more robustness.
"You see some players are really improving a lot, I won't say names because then I might jinx it, but several are having their longest spells with the club and we need to continue.
"We're catching up a bit from the story before and we need to focus on the now."
Following the announcement from the EFL that the play-offs were set to be extended to six teams next season, Clement shared his thoughts on the news.
"To be very honest about it, it's not so important for me in my head, I'm just focused on trying to win every game.
"In Belgium, it's been a system where you have a normal competition and after that all points are divided by two and then you start the play-offs.
"We had six teams some years and four teams other years, but the dividing of the points felt really dishonest. I have never been in favour of that.
"This play-off system is interesting but it is something to think about the moment you come into the play-offs, how to prepare your team for that but I am not too busy with that now."
Giving the room an update on the squad's fitness, the head coach said: "It's a little bit similar to last week, very positive.
"Pelle has done two field training sessions with us but it's too early to put him in the squad, maybe on Wednesday we will see how he develops.
"The same players are available this week. There are several players heading in the right direction, it will take a little bit of time with Oscar (Schwartau) but he is running and Anis (Ben Slimane) feels better.
"Amankwah Forson needs to fight with others who have been playing, showing resilience.
"That's what you want and what they need to show in training; that they are better than others.
"Liam (Gibbs) has been doing well in that position also, Tony (Springett) did well and we have others who can play there.
"We are still struggling to get players to 90 minutes and with still 13 players out you also need to think about a potential extra 30 minutes this weekend."
Ahead of the FA Cup fifth round tie against Leeds United, Clement said: "The excitement in the group is there already for quite a few weeks, you see that on the pitch, next to the pitch with the guys on the bench, the joy you see after the game.
"So, I don't feel a difference this weekend, it's been really good. I told you in December that the vibe and how everyone is reacting is really positive; joy, unity with jokes but at the right moments, a lot of hard work, a lot of seriousness, a really good dressing room at the moment."
"I don't have the feeling that I need to test myself, it's more the players.
"It's an interesting test where you have everything to win this game, we will have another point that we can measure like we had against Coventry and Middlesbrough, now it's a step-up.
"They've spent a lot of money to get an even better squad than they already had last season. They have high ambitions with the FA Cup as well.
"I'm really looking forward to what level we can reach, I believe that in one day we can beat whatever team.
"Concentration needs to be high but we need to be in a state of mind that we play our own football, you can't play a totally different style because then you confuse players and we lose our way.
"I want that freedom in every game; you haven't seen the team playing with fear and if they have fear then I don't want them on the pitch.
"They have to believe in themselves and their team-mates.
"We have a periodic review every nine or 10 games and what they did in that period has been amazing.
"We've been leading in every sense, every metric in the league, so if you see two reviews before, it's like a miracle what the players have done."
Talking more about the Premier League side's style of play, Clement said: "They're not only a team that focus on set-pieces, they're a high-pressing team and they are very aggressive.
"If they don't succeed, they fall back in a very compact block and wait for the transitions. They have a big squad and they're only missing one player for this fixture, so it's going to be a big, big test.
"I was not here to see everything that (Daniel Farke) did, but clearly he got a lot of good results, going to the Premier League twice with the club which is a big achievement, those moments create something special.
"I'm very sure he will be respected a lot by our fans and he will respect the club also, like he has been in his interviews.
"It's normal because this is a very warm family club, if you don't feel at home here you have a problem with yourself."
