Dean Smith reported that everyone came through Tuesday night’s game against AFC Bournemouth okay.
Sam Byram was taken off at half-time and “it’s about managing him and what loads he can tolerate,” Smith said at his pre-Sunderland press conference on Friday morning.
“We want him to be fully fit to push the starters.”
Smith previously reported that Andrew Omobamidele was unavailable for Tuesday’s game with an ankle injury, but the centre-back made the bench for that game after saying he wanted to train.
“He was medically okay to train,” Smith said. “I love the attitude of the lad.”
