Josh Sargent is set to return for Norwich City against Sunderland in this week's Sky Bet Championship fixture.
Head coach David Wagner says that the USA international trained fully with the squad on Thursday and Friday and will be in full contention for the visit of the Black Cats to Carrow Road.
"He (Sargent) is fully in contention, he's trained for the last couple of sessions with the team," Wagner explained before addressing Gabriel Sara's absence from training earlier this week.
"They were pictures from early in the week. Gabby was ill and didn't train Monday or Tuesday but has been in since then.
"Jonny Rowe is also in training, he will take a little bit longer. So will Sam (Byram), I see him every day, he's working hard but I don't want to put a timeframe on it."
With set-piece coach Allan Russell departing the club, Wagner says that responsibility going forward has been left to Andy Hughes.
Hughes was credited after last week's win at Millwall with masterminding the set-pieces leading to the first two goals.
"Hughesy took the lead for the last couple of weeks. He did it for me at Huddersfield as well. There was a moment where Allan and us agreed we would part and move forward," Wagner added.
"I don't like to rate victories, it's not fair. At the end of the day, we have had to fight for every single point so far. It was a huge win, we don't underestimate it.
"The boys have had to dig in and did it in a great way, but we still only get three points. We need to make sure we fight and work for the next three."
Ahead of this weekend, Wagner highlighted that Sunderland's 5-1 defeat to Stoke City was not in keeping with what he has seen from their squad in his match preparation.
He pointed to their form prior to the last month and as a better indication of what the visitors will be able to provide.
"A very good footballing team, like to dominate the ball, they play good technical football. They have a young squad, a lot of energy. Before the last three games, they were challenging and in the top six," he says.
"We won't look at their recent results, we know they've a good team.
"We need to make a special atmosphere, everybody needs to know and feel that we have a chance to make it four wins in a row."
