Milot Rashica is set to miss the next three to four weeks of Norwich City action with a groin injury.

Milot Rashica is set to miss the next three to four weeks of Norwich City action with a groin injury.

Rashica sat out City's draw with Newcastle United on Tuesday and following subsequent scans, he's been ruled out for the upcoming period of games.

As for Mathias Normann who came off injured in last weekend's stalemate against Wolverhampton Wanderers, head coach Dean Smith has targeted next week's visit of Manchester United for his return.

Delivering his team news at his pre-match press conference, Smith said: "We've got a couple of injury doubts. Mathias Normann has had an injection in his pelvic area, we hope to him get him back a bit quicker. I'm hoping to get him back for next week's game against Manchester United.

"There's nothing wrong with the injury, it's just managing the pain.

"We thought Milot Rashica had a slight groin problem but after a scan, it looks more significant. We think he'll be out for three to four weeks.

Dean also offered an update on Todd Cantwell who missed Tuesday's game after coming into close contact with someone who had Covid-19.

"Todd has trained with us since Newcastle. He's all clear now so we're happy to have him training with us."

Dean rounded off his team news bulletin by revealing Sam Byram won't feature for the Under-23s against Reading this afternoon, however he's building towards a 90 minute performance and the staff are very pleased with him.
