Head coach Philippe Clement has spoken to the media ahead of Norwich City's home Sky Bet Championship fixture against Charlton Athletic on Boxing Day (KO 3pm).
The Belgian confirmed that Amankwah Forson was being assessed following his forced substitution during Saturday's 1-1 draw against Preston North End.
"He has a small hamstring problem, it is not a long-term thing, so we will take a view on it in the next few days but it is a big question mark."
Clement gave further injury updates for US international Josh Sargent and Shane Duffy, who picked up an injury in the Under-21s fixture against Bromley late last week.
"Sargent is back in training and will be available on Boxing Day.
"For Shane it is a bit more severe, he will not be available. He won't need surgery.
"Lucien Mahovo has been training last week for the first time after a long time out, so we need still need to watch out.
"It's not like pre-season where you can give 10 minutes here and there, but he will be available for the squad.
"We have to take this period game by game, we don't have a squad at the moment where we can plan rotations in some positions; we're not there yet.
"We need to look at it game by game and making the right choice.
"People have played in different positions than their own, creating more competition, which is a positive thing.
"I encourage that, I want to see that everybody is challenging, so everybody needs to push to be in the team, especially in periods like this."
When asked to reflect on City's late heartbreak at Deepdale last weekend, the head coach said that the team had had a positive review of the game as a group.
"It was several individual things and details that don't fall your way, there were mistakes made individually that we need to improve in the future.
"The good thing is that we can make these meetings a place where we can learn together.
"The team is adult enough to accept that and take responsibility; they're really open and honest in the meetings, which is the best way.
"We've spoken about the drop in the second half, where they previously played much better in the first half.
"Things are improving but we still have a long way to go, we meet almost every day about things we can do better."
On goalkeeper Vladan Kovačević, Clement said: "He had some really good moments in this game where he has helped the team a lot; high balls in the box against really strong attackers.
"For the goal, he needs to change direction twice and balance; if you've never been a goalkeeper, I think you might think it would be savable.
"That's the life of a goalkeeper or defender; when you make mistakes, it's clearer.
"Vlad is mature enough to cope with that, he is very ambitious and hungry to make our story better. He will make the next step in his career here."
Jovon Makama scored his third goal in two games at the weekend; someone who Clement was full of praise for in the press conference.
"I see someone with a lot of potential but who also still needs to learn a lot of details, like in this squad in general.
"It was a really good week in doing something and getting the reward; Ryan (Garry) had a meeting with Jovon about Romelu Lukaku and how he uses his body to score goals, to turn around defenders to get shots in and he scored in a similar way."
When asked about his assessment of Tony Springett since his return to the squad, Clement said: "His energy is one reason why he has come in on those occasions in that position.
"He is somebody who gives his life everyday in training, wanting to improve and those are the kind of guys you need and I need more and more of in the team.
"Tony helped us a lot as a left full-back, which is not his normal position and now he can play in a position he is more used to."
Over the busy Christmas period, the Canaries will play four games in 10 days, the first of which begins on Friday at Carrow Road.
"I hope all the fans have a really good Christmas and New Year but that they come with a lot of energy to the next few games.
"Charlton are very aggressive and physical, so it will be a tough game.
"Every game is a battle and everybody can win against everybody, it is a very competitive league, so things can change quickly in the table.
"We know where we are right now and we need to get to a higher position but we need to take it game by game."
