Norwich City head coach Johannes Hoff Thorup has confirmed that Josh Sargent will be unavailable for eight weeks.
"He (Sargent) is going to require surgery, so we're looking at eight weeks. It's not the ideal scenario for anybody. We have options and possibilities for other players to come in," he said.
"Gabe Forsyth suffered a knee injury and won't be available tomorrow. We will scan him tomorrow and hope it's not too serious.
"He can see now the opportunity is there, so it's disappointing for him.
"We hope to have Angus Gunn and Marcelino Núñez back after the international break. We don't want to do anything too risky and we can hope to have Núñez back not long after the break."
The head coach also spoke about Oscar Schwartau and Amankwah Forson, who both featured in midfield away to Cardiff City.
"He (Schwartau) is improving. We didn't expect that he would be playing so much, we thought he would develop and compete in the second season. He's doing well and so are a lot of the younger ones.
"It's a little bit difficult for him (Forson) at the moment. He obviously suffered an injury against Crystal Palace. A new culture, new environment, new style of football, it's been difficult for him."
The Dane also spoke about the test that Sheffield Wednesday will provide on Tuesday night.
"It's going to be a big test for us. Cardiff was a big disappointment for us. We expect another tough one, we will have to defend well and to show what we're made of and to have good moments in the game."
