Norwich City head coach Dean Smith confirmed in his pre-Huddersfield Town press conference on Monday morning that Jacob Sørensen will be out of the squad for a number of weeks.
Sørensen suffered a stress fracture in his foot during Saturday’s game against Hull City, a scan revealed.
With left-backs Dimitris Giannoulis and Sam McCallum also injured, Smith was asked what his plans are for the position.
“We’ll look in the market but for Tuesday we’ll have to look for other options within the squad,” he said.
“Sam Byram has trained, but tomorrow might be too early for him. There’s not an option to recall Bali \[Mumba\] until January.”
Elsewhere, Smith said that Teemu Pukki has a bruised foot and will have an x-ray this morning. “He played the rest of the game so we’re hopeful he’ll be okay,” Smith added.
Adam Idah returns to training today as the swelling has gone down on his knee and Isaac Hayden is expected to join in soon.
Tony Springett and Jonathan Tomkinson will both get minutes for the Under-21s in today’s game at Leeds United, Smith also confirmed.
