Norwich City head coach Philippe Clement confirmed that an assessment of Ben Chrisene's injury would be made on Wednesday, after the left-back was forced off in Saturday's tie against Preston North End.
"It is a bit better (than we thought), so we will make an assessment tomorrow around him.
"It's not a long term injury that he has, but of course we have two games in the short term.
"Ruairi (McConville) also has an assessment tomorrow; his recovery has been good and it's now about finding the right moment to come back.
"Grimmy (Dan Grimshaw) is not fit to train with us yet, he is still out but that is also a matter of days, nothing long term."
Two first-half goals from the Canaries were enough to pick up all three points at Carrow Road in Norwich's last Sky Bet Championship outing.
"This was one of the games where the ball was (in-play) for the least amount of time in the game and you want to avoid that, as a fan of football and I am, you want to see a football game and not fault after fault.
"That's a responsibility that we don't have, that's the referee, they need to see that it stays a football game and not a free-kick competition.
"Every attack we made there was a fault in the second half, so as I've said, we had to control the controllables, that is what we are doing.
"It is less sexy football for fans when you see only 47 or 49 minutes of the ball in play, it becomes difficult to see a really exciting game.
"Nick (Stanley), who keeps all the stats, tells me that we are defensively the best team in the league and we've conceded the least amount of goals from set-pieces."
City travel to Southampton on Wednesday evening, having collected three points against the Saints earlier in the season during the reverse fixture on home turf.
"They have a lot of quality; several players who played in the Premier League less than a year ago; they still have the parachute payments with a big budget and the ambition is to go up again.
"For them, it's a need to be in the play-offs with the squad that they have, that's clear.
"We are still in the start of building things.
"They were the first team that we came up against that was good on the ball, but in that game we defended really well.
"When they had to push towards the end to get a point or try to win the game, we managed to keep them away from our goal, which was one of the first steps for really believing in our team against high quality opponents like Southampton.
"They've changed personnel and style of play, so there are not many similarities with that first game.
"I know this club, they have a few really important players from the past; I always loved to see Matt Le Tissier play; and it's a historic ground, a good club.
"I think we are both the teams who took the most points in 2026, so it's going to be a big challenge.
"I don't believe in being a home team, I love to be at Carrow Road with all our fans, of course, as it gives you something extra but you need to win away games also.
"I want to create a culture where we want to win everywhere, it's very important to believe in yourselves and the people around you.
"We will not succeed every time but if the will, desire and work attitudes are good, we will play good games."
When asked about the possibility of climbing the table to the play-off position, Clement was to quick to highlight his current objectives.
"You have to dream, it's important to dream in life and I dream of winning every game, so then we will come in a good position at the end of the season but I am not always thinking about the ranking or what other teams are doing around us.
"We have so much work to do here, it's about our dream together to try to take the three points every time.
"The ranking is something for fans and journalist to talk about all season but we cannot live that life.
"Ranking is for me, where are you after the last game, but I understand the dreams and the business we are in, it's also why football is so popular.
"You can promote all these things but I need to keep that away from my dressing room."
