Head coach David Wagner has given an update on his squad ahead of the Sky Bet Championship fixture with Stoke City at Carrow Road on Saturday (kick-off 3pm).
The head coach addressed the injury to Marcelino Núñez while on international duty with Chile, suggesting that his prognosis was unclear until the club had the results of an imminent scan.
He confirmed that Josh Sargent was now able to go without painkillers and had stitches removed, but his expected return was unchanged.
"It's still the timescale we set out previously. We hope to have him back around Christmas or early January."
Borja Sainz has been training with the first team this week and the head coach confirmed that he expected him to get some time on the pitch soon with the Under-21 side.
Wagner also confirmed that Onel Hernández would be available for selection at the weekend.
Speaking on new signing Ui-jo Hwang: "We signed him because he's super fit. He looked very sharp and very aggressive for South Korea.
"He is very exciting and really wanted to come to us. I am looking forward to seeing him. Everything about him excites."
On signing Danny Batth from Sunderland: "We are happy that we have him with us, he is a good player and a good person.
"Now it's a lot of work in the video meeting rooms (for the new signings) to learn how we like to defend and attack."
On the weekend's opponents Stoke City, the head coach spoke of their quality: "After Southampton, this is the team with the best individuals that we face now, with the signings they have made and the money they have spent.
"Sometimes you (Stoke City) need a little bit of time to get consistency. Obviously it's a talented squad.
"First and foremost we have to be ready for the hard work and ready for the fight.
"We are really excited to be back at Carrow Road."
