Lucien Mahovo is set for a spell on the sidelines after picking up a training ground injury in the build up to Saturday's win at Wrexham.
Clement also confirmed that there were no other issues following on from the fixture in north Wales.
"Lucien got injured, it's a muscle problem. He doesn't need surgery but it will be long term that he's out. It was the last minute of training, he had a shot and felt something," he said.
"He was doing well, he's still a young lad with a lot of potential. He wanted to continue the story because he felt good, we had a good rotation with Ben (Chrisene), both of them growing week by week. I'm convinced he will come back in a good way and we can kick on afterwards. It's not the same injury.
"I need to rotate some positions again to have freshness in the team. We can have impact with the players who come on. There are no major things (injuries) from the game on Saturday."
On the topic of transfers, Clement indicated that there are conversations ongoing internally about potential targets while also saying there was no change with Josh Sargent's situation.
"It's not about just moving players out, it needs to be good for their careers also. If it's a young player, we can look at putting them on loan but it needs to be the right place where they will get the minutes.
"Yesterday was a really busy day, training, recovery, briefing of the team. I had some talks with Ben (Knapper) about potential signings, I went home and watched video of some players. It's a busy period but it's an exciting one.
"If there is a change (with Josh), I will tell you guys directly. I don't want to do the same question and answer every three days. If there is a change, I will be first to tell everyone."
Oscar Schwartau was one player that Clement spoke about individually, praising the young Dane.
The former Brøndby teen has been a regular since the Belgian arrived at the club in November, both on the wing and in midfield.
"I don't want to block his ability to play different positions but I'm convinced he can play really well in that position. Before, we didn't have the chance because we needed him on the wing. Ali coming in and Papa returning means that we can use him there more," he added.
"He's only 19, that's remarkable. He's a mature guy, he's intelligent. He's very hard-working, focused, hungry to become better, he's a nice lad to work with and also has great technical qualities."
On tomorrow's opponents, Clement spoke of the difficulty of facing a team with a new head coach in place with an element of the unknown about it.
Eric Ramsay took charge of their defeat against Middlesbrough on Friday night, his first game at the club since joining from Minnesota United.
"For us, it's more difficult to have an idea how they're going to play. He's only been there for one game, played two systems in that one game, changed how they are with and without the ball.
"We've watched games at Minnesota to see how they were structured. We'll have to focus on ourselves with the ball, that's becoming more natural to the players.
"For me, West Brom or Coventry, it's all about the three points. It's a long journey we have to do, a hard one. We'll put all our energy, our focus into the next one. We don't have to look at the past or the future, we need to look at the moment we can grab."
