Norwich City head coach Johannes Hoff Thorup confirmed that Jacob Sørensen would likely be back in the squad for Saturday's Sky Bet Championship fixture against Sunderland.
He said: "Probably Saturday, that's the feeling right now and how it looks. Of course we need to test him with a good session tomorrow and see if everything is fine."
The latest news at the club revealed that Angus Gunn had been charged with misconduct following City's fixture against QPR earlier this month.
"We have to respond and what's most important for us is we try to get an answer before a couple of hours before kick off.
"They have the right to dig into bad behaviour if that's what they feel it is. It is how it is."
On the topic of FA charges, Hoff Thorup said: "Overall, we were not satisfied with the treatment of us and Kenny in that decision; it was made too late.
"That was our biggest concern about that moment but on the other hand, we are a football club playing in a league where there are rules we have to follow."
The Canaries were narrowly defeated by Burnley at Carrow Road in the last league test, losing 2-1 on home turf.
"We always have a team meeting in the morning, then we go through what we think was the story of the game. We present clips and the plan of the day so everyone is prepared and try to open up the room for discussions, because this is an environment to learn in. I need to ask them some questions, we try to open up that room so there is more conversation and questions asked.
"We have to expect that against teams really fighting up there for promotion, they don't need many chances to score goals, they have a lot of quality. (Burnley) was a good test for us because we see how close we are and we can also sometimes be better than the teams up there."
Next up for Norwich City is Sunderland, where Hoff Thorup's side will travel to the Stadium of Light on Saturday, December 21.
"They play really well and something we need to be prepared for. They are the best transition team in the league. For us, it's about balance, not being tempted to go into certain areas where there is a big risk.
"They can be 2-0 down and still fight back, because they know how to deal with it; what kind of patterns they need to find, what kind of mentality and characters they need from their players."
Saturday's match starts a run of five fixtures in two weeks for Norwich City, where the Canaries will face Sunderland, Millwall, QPR, Luton and Coventry.
On the festive period, he said: "I sat there on my couch at 10 years old and watched English football and now I am part of it.
"I have told my wife (on Christmas day) to keep the food warm on a plate and I'll be there.
"There's so much support and friendly people here, so the family take care of things, they just wait for me with dinner then I go back to the training ground. It's culture."
