Johannes Hoff Thorup has confirmed that both Josh Sargent and Kenny McLean are in contention to play against Swansea City in the Sky Bet Championship.
The head coach also gave injury updates on several other first team players following the first international break of the season.
“Kenny McLean seems like he's okay, we assessed him this morning. I think he'll play on Saturday. Josh Sargent felt something in his ankle and I think the decision was for him to go home and not to take any risks. He will be in training tomorrow and in contention," Hoff Thorup said.
“Ben Chrisene pulled out of the England squad. That was a conversation between him and the FA to take care of a small injury. He's fine.
“Onel Hernández will be in the building tomorrow, but he's fine. Amankwah Forson too, who didn't play any games. We can expect Jacob Sørensen to be back in training a little bit next week. Christian Fassnacht is on schedule and Ashley Barnes had a set-back and will be a further couple weeks from here."
The Dane also spoke about some of the recent arrivals at the club and what he expects them to add to the group going forward before discussing the challenge he expects from Swansea this weekend.
“We have to take care of him (Ante Crnac), everything is new. He surprised me, in a positive way, with his performance against Sheffield United. We have to be patient, but we expect something from a good player.
“He's easy-going and focused on his performances. That's exactly what we need in the group, we have a lot of different personalities in the group.
“There's areas of his game where Anis (Ben Slimane) can improve. We have to develop him to play 35, 40 games in a season. Good things take time.
“We have to be prepared. Our high-pressing has to be very good and play with more intensity. We can prepare, make sure everyone is fully committed and execute the game plan. That's important for us."
