Norwich City head coach Johannes Hoff Thorup has confirmed that Angus Gunn will be available for Saturday's Sky Bet Championship fixture against West Bromwich Albion.
The Dane's pre-match press conference was hosted at the Community Sports Foundation's facility The Nest, to celebrate the EFL's Week of Action.
There, Hoff Thorup gave an update on the squad's injury situation to the media in attendance and members of the Foundation's girls' football development programme who were invited as guests:
"It's better, (Ashley) Barnesy is back with the group, (Liam) Gibbs is back with the group, Onel (Hernández) is back. We are getting there, slowly, but we are getting there.
"Angus Gunn is available. He's an important player for us, he's an important player for the group. Before the injury he was performing at a high level."
There was an update from Hoff Thorup on Marcelino Núñez:
"I think what we do is integrate him slowly with the group maybe just a little bit tomorrow. Realistically we can start talking about game minutes for him Saturday next week."
He confirmed that the club will assess the fitness of Shane Duffy and Callum Doyle tomorrow after both withdrew from international duty during the break.
"For both of them, it has been a matter of playing many minutes. We didn't have the possibilities to rest them. Shane was playing with some calf issues and the same with Callum who had some issues but played through it because he had to."
On Gabe Forsyth, who was injured during the last block of fixtures, he said:
"It will be a couple of weeks before we can start to integrate him to training again."
Looking ahead to the weekend's clash, the head coach noted the challenge of facing a strong West Bromwich Albion side:
"I expect what we have seen all season; they are a solid team. It is a team that is difficult to break down, they are a team that concedes few goals and concedes few chances."
He concluded by praising the club's supporters who will travel in good numbers at the weekend:
"When I meet them in different scenarios we have good conversations and they ask some really good football questions and are buying in to what we are trying to do here.
"It's fantastic, I heard that we have 2,500 away at West Brom. That's fantastic."
