Teemu Pukki praised the first-half performance as Norwich City came away from Molineux Stadium with a point.
The Canaries took the lead seven minutes before the break when Pukki picked up a pass from Max Aarons, ventured into the box and hit a reverse strike through the legs of Wolverhampton Wanderers’ defender Conor Coady.
It was a deserved lead and although Wolves pegged Norwich back in the second half, Teemu was pleased with a point.
“We really didn’t want to lose today,” he said. “There had been too many loses in a row. We wanted to get something out of the game and we did that. We wanted to win, but at least we got the one point. Specifically, the first half I thought it was a good game. We created loads of chances and we could have scored more. Second half was a bit more of a fight and think that was something we had to do after the loses.”
Speaking about his goal, Teemu added: “It is hard for a keeper if the strike comes through the legs and I knew that. I had a couple of chances before that, so I should have maybe scored before that. It was important to get that goal before half-time and it was a good goal, so I am happy.”
The second half saw Wolves switch things around tactically. However, their equaliser had an element of good fortune about it as the free kick that led up to the goal was a soft one.
“At least what I saw I thought that Dimi (Giannoulis) got the ball,” said Teemu. “But those are the stupid goals that we give away at the moment because the ball stayed in our box and we couldn’t clear it and then they got a clear and easy header. We just need to be stronger in those plays.”
After conceding though, Norwich restricted Wolves to very few chances and now going into the final home game with Tottenham Hotspur still with a chance o leapfrogging Watford in the table and finishing 19th.
“That is our aim for the last game,” said Teemu. “We want to win at home because it has been a while and we want to show a good performance on Sunday and get something out of the game.”
