Tom Dickson-Peters: I think Fulham deserved the win. Hopefully we can learn from it

Striker Tom Dickson-Peters felt it was a below par performance from Norwich City Under-23s in the 2-0 loss to Fulham.

Striker Tom Dickson-Peters felt it was a below par performance from Norwich City Under-23s in the 2-0 loss to Fulham.

The Premier League 2 match at The Walks Stadium was settled by an own goal midway through the second half, when Josh Giurgi turned the ball into his own net and a late strike from Ziyad Larkeche.

However, for Dickson-Peters it was a close game that they should have performed much better in.

"We know that they (Fulham) are a good team and I think from the first minute we had to be on top of our game," he said. "We were not that today and it showed in our performance and in the result. If you had seen how we moved the ball in previous games then you know we are much better than that.

"I think the first half the game was pretty tight. I think second half they (Fulham) edged it with a set-piece and I think they deserved the win. Hopefully we can learn from that during the international break and work hard and come back ready for Reading away.

Dickson-Peters had Norwich's best chance in the first half when he hit the inside of the post, but he was left thinking about that missed opportunity at the final whistle.

"It was a good chance," he said. "But if we want to be winning these games then I have to be looking to put that in the net, I think. Hopefully, next time, I get a chance like that I will be finishing it."
