Under-23s forward Tom Dickson-Peters says he was happy to help the team in their comeback draw against Derby County in the Premier League Cup on Monday afternoon.
The Under-23s went 3-1 down in the 71st minute to the Rams but scored twice in the final ten minutes of the game to take a point from their opening group stage fixture of the tournament.
Speaking in his post-match interview, Dickson-Peters says while he was happy to have taken a point from a tough game, he was disappointed to not get the win, regardless of his hat-trick heroics.
"We didn't start the match as well as we normally do, that came from all of us not on the front foot and not progressing. I think the second half showed that change from us in the score line and we came back to grab a draw, so it didn't turn out bad!
"Derby are obviously a good side. I'm not sure where they are in the league, but they have some great players. I think we could've been better, but it was a good game and good result.
"I'm feeling good about my hat-trick but we didn't win, so it's not the best. I'm happy to get three goals to help the team though, it's a good feeling."
With the draw salvaging a point in the group stages of the Premier League Cup, the Canaries are already off the mark in the tournament, but Dickson-Peters says the desire to win is no different in any format across the season.
"We didn't necessarily want to win this one more than any league game, I think we go out there to win every game the same way. We try to win everything, whether it's a cup game, league game or a friendly."
"To grab the draw last-minute is much better than a loss, so hopefully next game we can get the win. We've started the season well but we need to carry on. We know we can play better than today and maybe even the last game. I think we need to carry this on and see how the rest of the season goes."
