Norwich City's Under-23s lost 3-2 away to Middlesbrough in the Premier League 2 Division Two on Sunday afternoon.
The home side took the lead on the brink of half-time when Williams Kokolo provided for Toyosi Olusanya to finish.
Alan Neilson made one change at half-time, replacing Regan Riley with Lewis Shipley for the Canaries.
But Joseph Gibson doubled Boro's lead in the 66th minute when he got on the end of Alberto Balde Almanzar's pass to slot the ball past Dylan Berry.
City made another change moments later, Nelson Khumbeni coming on for Liam Gibbs, before Tom Dickson-Peters pulled one back with his eighth goal in 12 league games this season.
Flynn Clarke replaced Josh Giurgi in the 78th minute, but City's were knocked back again when Sonny Finch found Gibson in the 83rd minute, who netted his brace.
Goalscorer turned provider in the third minute of added time when Dickson-Peters picked out Jonathan Rowe, who converted for his sixth league goal of the season, but it was too little too late as Middlesbrough held on for three points.
