Norwich City's Under-23s lost 6-0 to MK Dons' senior team at Lotus Training Centre on Friday afternoon.
The away side took the lead in 13 minutes, when Conor Grant won the ball high up the pitch and put it on a plate for Matt Smith.
With the game split into three periods of 30 minutes, MK Dons increased their lead shortly after the first break, Darragh Burns tapping in from Nathan Hollands' cross at the far post.
City left-back Sean Stewart delivered a promising, inswinging free-kick, but no-one in yellow and green could meet the ball.
Burns' netted his brace after he was picked out by Smith on the right wing, the former showing good footwork to beat his man and squeeze the ball past Archie Mair for 3-0.
Former City Academy forward Matthew Dennis, who signed for MK Dons in the summer, shot over the bar with a bicycle kick, before Grant made it 4-0.
Dan Kemp shot in off the post for 5-0 as the game approached its conclusion, before Callum Tripp made it six in stoppage time.
