Norwich City Under-18s fell to defeat in their final away game of the U18PL campaign, losing 3-2 to Aston Villa.

The game's first chance fell to the hosts, as Caleb Ansen was called into action early on. The goalkeeper saved well from Rory Wilson's shot, however.

Norwich came close to opening the scoring from a free-kick, as Elliot Myles almost beat the goalkeeper with his effort but saw the set-piece hit the post.

And the Canaries would open the scoring just before the half-hour mark, as Michael Reindorf finished into the bottom corner from Dubem Eze's pass.

Wilson was the threat for Aston Villa once again as they went in search of an equaliser, with his effort striking the post.

Norwich doubled their lead just before half-time, as Eze finished into the bottom corner.

Aston Villa would register the first opportunity of the second half, as Kerr Smith rose highest from a corner, with Ansen saving well from the header.

Wilson would score for Aston Villa as they pulled one back. Ansen saved from the penalty spot, but the Villa player would score at the second attempt.

The goalscorer would be sent off shortly after the penalty, as Aston Villa were reduced to ten men.

And the hosts would level moments later, as I-lani Edwards equalised from close range.

The Norwich trialist came close to restoring the lead, but couldn't keep his header down.

Aston Villa went in front ten minutes before time, as Trai-varn Mulley found the bottom corner.

Eze and Reindorf both had efforts saved late on, as the Canaries tried to find a way back into the game.
