Norwich City Under-18s took a 4-0 loss to Fulham at Motspur Park on Saturday afternoon.
Fulham started the game on the front foot as they tested Jayden St Paul early on, Oliver Sanderson heading towards goal in the fifth-minute, but it was comfortably caught by the City 'keeper.
It wouldn't be long after until City found their first chance of the game as Osman Foyo weaved through the Fulham box, firing over the bar on his last touch.
A close call for the Canaries soon followed as Devan Tanton's cross found Jaylan Wildbore in the box, the midfielder turning the ball towards goal and deflecting off a City shirt onto the crossbar.
Applying pressure to the young Canaries defence and forcing an error, Wildbore soon stole the ball from the backline and found himself through on goal, but it was no problem for St Paul who comfortably saved once again.
City thought they'd found the lead on the stroke of the 40th minute as Joe Duffy nodded a corner nicely towards the Fulham goal, but it was devastatingly cleared off the line by the hosts defence.
Just minutes later, the Cottagers would find the opener themselves as they countered City before half time. Darting down the right-side, Wildbore continued to cause trouble as the midfielder crossed into the centre of the box for Sanderson, who made no mistake from close-range in tapping his chance in.
Coming out for the second half, the young Canaries continued to hunt their first goal of the game as they pressured the hosts. The best of these chances came in the 59th minute, when Duffy's header, destined for the top corner, was denied by the Fulham shot-stopper at full-stretch.
Capitalising on City's missed chance, the Cottagers countered quickly as they marched up the other end of the pitch and crossed for Sanderson again, the striker doubling their lead as he buried his second effort.
15 minutes later, Fulham notched another one into their lead as Luke Harris fired from distance, his shot rolling under St Paul as he went low to retrieve.
Not long after, Sanderson rounded off the game with his hat-trick as the forward half-volleyed Fulham's cross into the back of the net to seal all three points for the hosts.
