But it would be the Canaries who went in front, as Elliot Myles guided his shot into the bottom corner after being found by Harrison Thompson.

Norwich's lead would only last five minutes, as Wilson equalised for the away side from Ewan Simpson's pass.

Caleb Ansen was called into action, as he saved well from Trai-varn Mulley.

And shortly before half-time, Wilson added his and Aston Villa's second of the game, finding the top corner.

Gabriel Keita almost found an equaliser for the Canaries, as he rose highest from a corner, but saw his header hit the crossbar.

Rowe come close to an Aston Villa third, but Ansen got down well to palm it away from danger.

Wilson then turned provider for Aston Villa, as he assisted their third goal, setting up Charlie Pavey found the top corner.

Damari Daley and Jaiden Owen both had shots blocked, as the Aston Villa defence remained strong.
