Norwich City Under-18s began their Under-18 Premier League South season with a 1-1 draw away to Aston Villa.
Greg Crane's side began their season on the front foot and almost had the opener within seven minutes, as La'Sean Sealey's strike hit the post.
Caleb Ansen was called into action early on at the other end, saving well from Mason Cotcher's effort.
The home side took the lead through Trai-Varn Mulley, who finished beyond Ansen after being found by Bradley Burrowes' pass.
Sealey came closest to an equaliser in the first half, almost finding the bottom corner but for a smart stop from Sam Proctor in the Aston Villa goal.
George Hemmings had an effort to extend the hosts' lead, but Ansen was equal to his shot on goal.
And Sealey's patience would be rewarded as he found the equaliser just before the hour mark. His free-kick beat Proctor in the Villa goal as Norwich found their route back into the game.
The Canaries were reduced to 10 men with 30 minutes to go, as Kingston Simbai was sent off after picking up two yellow cards.
Theo Adelusi almost headed the Canaries in front, rising from a corner well but couldn't keep his effort down.
The Under-18s are back in action on Tuesday afternoon, facing off against Manchester City in the Premier League Cup.
