Under-18s Report | Crystal Palace 4-2 Norwich City

A 10-man Norwich City Under-18s side fell to a 4-2 defeat away to their Crystal Palace counterparts in the Under-18 Premier League South.

The home side started out strongly and almost opened the scoring through Jesse Derry who saw an effort saved by the Norwich goalkeeper.

Damari Daley had the Canaries' first chance of the game, seeing his close range effort go just wide of the post.

La'Sean Sealey and Daley both would have chances in the opening half-hour in south London, but were unable to find the breakthrough.

Norwich were given the opportunity to open the scoring from the penalty spot after Hugo Valencia Gomez was fouled by Matteo Dashi. Sealey stepped up and confidently finished from the spot to take the lead.

But the Canaries would only be in front for five minutes, as Ben Casey drew Crystal Palace level with a close range header.

And just before the break, Norwich were reduced to 10 men after Sonny Rowland picked up his second yellow card of the game and was sent off.

Two goals in quick succession early in the second half saw the home side take control of the game, with Jasper Judd and Derry on the scoresheet.

Norwich would pull a goal back five minutes from time as Finlay Oligbo curled in a brilliant free-kick.

As the Canaries went in search of an equaliser, they were punished on the break as Crystal Palace countered and scored through Kai-Reece Adams-Collman for their fourth.

The Under-18s travel away to Reading in their next Under-18 PL South fixture.
