A late equaliser meant Norwich City Under-18s had to settle for a point in the Under-18 Premier League South after a 1-1 draw at home to Southampton.

Southampton created early chances through Tinotenda Goremusandu and Hansel Adjei-Afriyie, before the Canaries had efforts of their own come close from Jake Glossop and Ben Tree.

Norwich were closest in the first half to the opening goal, as Oser Okpiabhele got up highest from a corner but saw his header hit the post.

And late on in the first half, Rio Mundle and Finlay Corke would register chances but the two sides would be level at the break.

Just after the hour mark, Norwich would open the scoring as Sonny Rowland finished into the bottom corner.

Ethan Binnie was called into action to keep Norwich in front, saving well from Fabio Sainsbury.

Southampton would eventually find a leveller, as Max Little would fire into the top corner to equalise.

Ajay Tavares and Jake Glossop could've won it for Norwich in stoppage time, but their efforts flashed just off-target as the game ended as a draw.

The Under-18s are back at home next weekend, as they host Aston Villa (KO 1pm).
