Norwich City Under-18s progressed into the fourth round of the FA Youth Cup with a 2-1 win over Stoke City at Carrow Road.
The Canaries started out brightly, as Ajay Tavares made a couple of surging runs that lead to chances for Rio Mundle. Both efforts were just wide of the post.
Stoke had chances of their own early on, as Lewis Bailey was sent through but couldn't guide his effort on-target as it went wide of an on-rushing Jack Ruddy.
Finlay Corke was thwarted by an impressive Stoke block, before Reuben Cooper's shot was deflected not far wide of Lucas Knight's posts.
But Stoke went into the break ahead, as Elliot Fearn headed in to give the Potters the lead.
Just after the hour mark, Norwich were level. Tavares and Kahlil Steele combined well, with the latter firing across goal for Mundle to score.
And just over 10 minutes after, Tavares was felled in the area and Norwich were awarded a penalty. Corke stepped up and sent Knight the wrong way to score.
Norwich had to dig deep during the final moments of the game, but managed to hold on and progress into the fourth round.
The Under-18s are back in Under-18 Premier League South action over the weekend, as they travel away to face Crystal Palace.
