Under-18s Report | Norwich City 4-3 Brentford

Norwich City Under-18s progressed into the fourth round of the FA Youth Cup with a 4-3 win over Brentford at Carrow Road.

Norwich City Under-18s progressed into the fourth round of the FA Youth Cup with a 4-3 win over Brentford at Carrow Road.

Norwich registered the game's first chance, as Lloyd Ofori-Manteaw's effort was charged down well by goalkeeper Connor Wolfheimer.

The Canaries were ahead after 18 minutes as Elliot Myles brought down Vatan Ozcan's cross brilliantly and found the far corner with his effort.

Norwich saw their lead doubled three minutes later, again through Myles. La'Sean Sealey found the Wales Under-18s international and he beat a number of defenders before firing beyond the 'keeper.

Brentford would find a route into the game as Otis Honor volleyed beyond Henry Bullen from the edge of the area.

And they were level before half-time, with Michael McSorley's effort adjudged to have crossed the line.

Brentford started the second half strongly and saw Adam Poliakov's volley flash just wide of the post.

But despite the away side's bright start in the second half, Norwich regained the lead. Myles beat his marker and threaded a ball forward to Sealey, who cut inside and finished coolly into the bottom corner.

Sealey could've had a second goal moments later, as he jinked beyond a couple of markers but Wolfheimer got down well to save.

The Canaries added their fourth goal on the hour mark as Ofori-Manteaw won the ball high up the pitch and found Finlay Corke who rolled the ball into the bottom corner.

Bullen was called into action, getting down well to make a double save in quick succession.

McSorley scored for Brentford, firing beyond Bullen from long range as the away side rallied late on to find a way back into the game.

The Under-18s are back in Under-18 Premier League South action at the weekend, as they travel away to Tottenham Hotspur.
