The Norwich City Under 18s squad travelled to Northern Ireland last week for a pre-season tour and training camp.
The group stayed at the YMCA Greenhill facility in the mountains of Newcastle during their trip across the UK.
The trip was designed not only for training purposes, but to create a dynamic for team building and to develop relationships between players and staff.
The five-day visit consisted of training, conditioning, analysis and group activities, with an aim to match up the daily schedule to a normal day back at the academy.
Some of the team building activities included rock climbing, abseiling, the leap of faith, raft building. All the scholars pushed themselves and worked outside of their comfort zone.
The club nutritionist was on hand to communicate with the chef at the facility to provide healthy and nutritious meals during the trip.
A standard day included breakfast, training, lunch, conditioning, technical training, team building activities, dinner followed by a group activity.
The scholars also took time out of their trip with the coaching staff to get a wider understanding of the club ethos and values, as well as the philosophy behind the training they took part in.
The final day of the trip saw the scholars draw 2-2 in a match against a team from County Antrim, with goals came from Ken Aboe and Waylon Reneke.
A handful of City fans were on hand to show their support on the day with flags and requested photos post-match.
Greg Crane, the Under 18s academy coach, said on the camp: “The trip was really beneficial for staff and scholars to build important relationships.
“All of the scholars represented NCFC extremely well and the staff were extremely proud. It helped players and staff get to know each other and new players were educated on the values of the club and what is expected of a Norwich City scholar.”
