Norwich City Under-21s claimed a massive win in the Premier League Cup, beating Wolves 1-0 away from home.

The hosts had the game's first opportunity, as Owen Farmer's strike from distance hit the post before bouncing clear.

Norwich would register their first shot shortly after, as Pedro Lima slipped through Ken Aboh. The eventual shot was saved well by the Wolves 'keeper.

Joe Duffy opened the scoring in slightly fortuitous fashion, as his flick managed to loop up and over the Wolves goalkeeper into the back of the net.

Owen Hesketh had a good opportunity to level for Wolves, but didn't trouble Vicente Reyes with the effort as it went over the bar.

Aboh almost doubled Norwich's lead shortly before half-time. Marcel McIntosh did well to beat his man and put a cross into the box, but Aboh's header was parried over the bar by Joe Young in the Wolves goal.

In the second half, Aboh had another chance to double the score but saw his effort saved by the goalkeeper.

Wolves had a series of opportunities to find a way back into the game, and saw efforts from Josh Esen and Leo Lopes hit the woodwork.

Farmer had the closest opportunity, as he missed from close range after a corner fell into his path.

But Norwich would hold on for all three points, as they claimed a vital victory in the PL Cup.

Alan Neilson's side return to Premier League 2 action on Sunday, as they play away to Manchester City.
