Norwich City Under-21s fell to a 2-0 defeat against West Ham United in their final home fixture of the 2023/24 Premier League 2 season.
The away side started out brighter, and saw opportunities fall their way through Callum Marshall.
West Ham's strong start was rewarded just before the 10-minute mark, as Lewis Orford struck to put them in front.
Errol Mundle-Smith came close to a quick response from the Canaries, but could only find the side-netting with his effort.
Joe Duffy was next to threaten for Alan Neilson's side, as he fired over after some good work from Mundle-Smith.
And on the half-hour mark, West Ham doubled their lead. George Earthy struck from distance, finding the top corner.
Trialist, in goal for Norwich, was called into action and made a double save to keep the score at two.
The second half was a lot quieter than the first, with less clear-cut chances for both sides.
Orford saw a free-kick saved by Trialist, with Sean Moore putting an effort wide.
Kenny Coker and Duffy had chances to reduce the deficit but were unable to find a way back into the game.
The Under-21s return to action in two weeks time, as they end the PL2 season away to Aston Villa.
