Alex Roberts and Elliot Myles were on the scoresheet as Norwich City Under-21s claimed their first league win of 2024 with a 2-0 victory away to Leeds United.

The Canaries were forced into an early change after only seven minutes as Joe Duffy couldn't continue, being replaced by Roberts.

Leeds had the game's first chance, as Luca Thomas put an effort wide of Ellis Craven's goal just after the 10-minute mark.

Roberts, making his first competitive appearance at this age group, was involved immediately as he diverted a cross towards goal.

And just after the 20-minute mark, Norwich were in front. Marcel McIntosh's cross was perfect for Roberts to tap in at the back post.

Uriah Djedje guided a header at goal from a corner, but the effort was held well by Dani van den Heuvel in the Leeds goal.

Errol Mundle-Smith curled an effort just wide of the post, as Alan Neilson's side went in search of a second.

The second half saw less chances for both sides, but Leeds were reduced to 10 men as Ruben Lopata-White picked up two yellow cards and was sent off.

Dubem Eze and Myles had chances late on for the Canaries, both forcing the Leeds goalkeeper into a save.

In the fourth minute of injury time, Myles doubled the lead as he scored from close range.

The Under-21s are back in action on Monday night, as they travel away to King's Lynn Town Under-23s in the Norfolk Hire Senior Cup.
