Norwich City Under-21s were beaten 3-2 at home to their Middlesbrough counterparts in the Premier League 2.
Middlesbrough went ahead just before the 15-minute mark, as Pharrell Willis scored from close range.
Elliot Myles had Norwich's best chance early on, as he jinked beyond his marker before seeing his effort saved by Henry Popple in the Boro goal.
Sonny Finch doubled the away side's lead, heading beyond Ellis Craven after a previous effort was blocked.
Norwich would pull one back just before half-time, as Myles' corner found its way in at the front post.
Boro almost added a third at the start of the second half, as Finch saw an effort hit the post and bounce clear.
Norwich were level four minutes into the second half, as Joe Duffy headed in from Gabe Forsyth's free-kick.
Forsyth then came close to giving the Canaries lead with a well-hit volley, but the Boro goalkeeper did well to parry it wide.
Craven later produced a fantastic point-blank save to deny a Boro header.
Norwich were within inches of taking the lead after a quick break. Myles found Dubem Eze, whose ball set up Duffy, but the effort was curled wide of the post.
Joe Gibson put the away side in front 15 minutes from time, with the Canaries unable to find a way back into the game.
The Under-21s are back in action next Friday as they face Leeds United away from home.
