Under-21s Report | Derby County 0-3 Norwich City

Norwich City Under-21s returned to winning ways in Premier League 2, claiming a 3-0 victory away to Derby County on Friday night.

Norwich City Under-21s returned to winning ways in Premier League 2, claiming a 3-0 victory away to Derby County on Friday night.

Norwich took the lead just after the 20-minute mark. Emmanuel Adegboyega won a header from a corner, which hit the post and was eventually put through his own goal by a Derby defender.

Luis Lines was called into action during the first half, getting down well to deny efforts from Johnson Osong.

For the Canaries, Finley Welch and Zach Baumann had opportunities to extend the lead but saw their respective efforts go off-target.

In the second half, the home side nearly found an equaliser as a Curtis Nelson header was cleared off the line by Adegboyega.

And just after the hour mark, Norwich doubled their lead. Luke Towler set up Ken Aboh who found the bottom corner with a composed finish.

Two chances in as many minutes nearly saw the Canaries make it three. First, Botan Ameen's effort whistled just past the post, before Aboh hit the side-netting with a shot of his own.

Late on, there would be a third as Aboh put the ball on a plate for Welch to score.

The Under-21s are back on the road next week, as they face Middlesbrough in another PL2 clash on Friday afternoon.
