Norwich City Under-21s fell to a 3-0 defeat at home to Sunderland in the Premier League 2 on Friday night.
Both Norwich and Sunderland traded half-chances in the opening stages, with Errol Mundle-Smith coming closest for the Canaries.
But it would be Sunderland who took the lead. Ben Crompton tapped in from close range just before the half-hour mark.
Amankwah Forson almost found a leveller, latching onto a loose ball and curling towards goal. His effort looked to be heading for the top corner, but for a strong hand from Daniel Cameron in the Sunderland goal.
The second half saw Norwich start brightly and had a decent opening as Lucien Mahovo fired over from a cut-back by Dan Ogwuru.
Caleb Ansen was called into action in the second half, denying the away side with a number of fantastic saves.
Sunderland doubled their lead just over 10 minutes from time, as a corner was tapped in at the back post by Crompton.
And they added a third minutes later, as Marcus Neill slotted in from close range.
The Canaries return to PL2 action next Friday (November 1) as they travel away to face Manchester City (KO 7pm).
