Norwich City Under-21s had to settle for a point in the Premier League 2, drawing at home to Brighton & Hove Albion.

Ellis Craven was called into action early on, with the Norwich goalkeeper denying an attempt from Aidan West.

Norwich's first opportunity fell to Errol Mundle-Smith, whose smart swivel in the area created some space but his shot was saved by Hugo Fisher.

Brighton came within inches of the opening goal as Sahil Bashir's effort looked to have found a way beyond Craven, but for a fantastic goal-line clearance from Tyler Williams.

AJ Bridge would threaten next for City, as the midfielder surged forward and fired from the edge of the box. His effort needed two attempts to be claimed by the Brighton 'keeper.

And the Canaries would find the opener courtesy of Dylan Jones. A cross was headed back towards goal by Brandon Forbes and Jones improvised well to fire beyond the Brighton 'keeper.

Forbes could've made it two for Norwich 10 minutes into the second half. The Canaries countered brilliantly, before the Scotsman's lifted effort was smothered by Fisher.

Moments later, Brighton would level. A ball across the face of the goal by Harry Howell was met at the back post by Sahil Bashir, who tapped in to equalise.

Mundle-Smith had Norwich's next best chance. Harmony Okwumo found the young forward with a cross, with his side-footed volley going just wide of the post.

The Under-21s are back in PL2 action on Monday, February 24, as they travel away to face Leeds United (KO 7pm).
