Norwich City Under-21s had to settle for a point in Premier League 2, as they drew 1-1 at home to Southampton at the Avant Training Centre.

Norwich were ahead inside 30 seconds as a sweeping passing move was finished off brilliantly by Elliot Myles.

Moments later, it was nearly two as Myles saw a free-kick palmed over the crossbar by the Southampton goalkeeper.

Myles continued to threaten, jinking beyond a defender and finding Botan Ameen with a nice pass inside, but the effort was over the bar.

Nicholas Oyekunle registered a couple of chances for the away side, with Luis Lines making two superb stops to deny him.

Five minutes into the second half, Southampton were level as Thierry Rohart-Brown curled into the top corner.

Just before half-time, Miles Bracking wasn't too far away with a volley as the Canaries went into the break ahead.

Lines reacted well to push away a deflected effort wide of the post, getting across having initially moved in the other direction.

Neither side would find a winner in a quiet second half, as the points were shared.

The Under-21s are away to Tottenham Hotspur in their next PL2 fixture on Friday, February 20, at Stevenage's Lamex Stadium.
