Norwich City Under-21s began their Premier League International Cup campaign with a 2-1 win against Sparta Praha at Carrow Road.
A strong Norwich lineup, featuring players who have spent the early parts of the season with the first team, claimed the win thanks to goals from Finley Welch and Errol Mundle-Smith.
Archie Mair and Gabe Forsyth both came into the side, with Liverpool loanee Kaide Gordon also named in Alan Neilson's starting line-up.
The Canaries got off to a bright start and were ahead after 14 minutes. Mundle-Smith put a brilliant ball across goal, which was met by Welch who tapped home to open the scoring.
Shortly after the opener, the Czech side went in search of an equaliser and almost found it as Daniel Michl forced Mair into a strong save.
Gordon did well to beat a marker and get a ball into the box, which eventually came to Forsyth. The Scotsman's effort was eventually blocked, however.
Mair was called into action just before half-time, denying another effort from Sparta Praha.
Mundle-Smith had a couple of chances to double the score, glancing a header just wide before being denied by Tobias Soucek.
Elliot Myles was next to threaten for Norwich. First seeing a free-kick go wide, before curling an effort just wide of the post.
There would be an equaliser for the Czech side seven minutes from time as Ondrej Penxa levelled.
But Norwich were only level for three minutes as Mundle-Smith scored to put the Canaries back ahead. Uriah Djedje threaded a through ball to the striker who finished confidently beyond the goalkeeper.
The Under-21s are back in action at Carrow Road on Friday evening, hosting Manchester United.
