Norwich City Under-21s were beaten 4-1 away to Tottenham Hotspur in Premier League 2 on Friday night.

Norwich City Under-21s were beaten 4-1 away to Tottenham Hotspur in Premier League 2 on Friday night.

Tottenham took the lead after a minute, as James Wilson tapped in from close range after Luca Williams-Barnett crossed in the area.

The home side nearly doubled their lead when Sonny Rowland nearly diverted a cross beyond Luis Lines into his own goal, but fortunately for the Norwich defender, he saw the ball hit the post and bounce clear.

Norwich grew into the game and came close through Luke Towler, who saw an effort whistle just beyond the post.

Elliot Myles was the player behind the Canaries' creativity, setting up Zach Baumann as he saw an effort stopped by the Spurs goalkeeper.

Myles then had the ball in the back of the net for Norwich, but his effort was ruled out for offside.

Norwich's chances would lead to the equaliser. Myles put the ball across goal for Botan Ameen who tapped in to score at the back post.

Just after the hour mark, Tottenham went ahead once again as Rio Kyerematen fired in brilliantly from long range.

The home side went onto dominate the second half, adding their third goal through  Reiss-Alexander Russell-Denny.

And late on, Tottenham made it four as Ellis Lehane tapped in from close range.

The Under-21s welcome Stoke City to the Avant Training Centre in their next PL2 fixture.
